Special Education Teacher - Tacoma | Fairfax Hospital | Tacoma, WA
Fairfax Hospital is a 133 licensed bed facility providing psychiatric
and dual disorders treatment for children, adolescents and adults as
well as two school programs under the name of the Northwest School of
Innovative Learning in Kirkland and Tacoma locations. We also provide
inpatient and outpatient CD services.
The Special Education Teacher educates students and administers policies
and procedures relating to all phases of education in accordance with
current state and federal standards that govern the rights of students
and employees. In addition, the Special Education Teacher is responsible
for IEPs, planning, implementing, coordinating, supervising
individualized direct care, educational group services and activities
for each assigned student or group. The teacher position defines and
implements education goals as a member of the educational team. As an
active member, this position provides continuous individualized tailored
student care, observation, interaction, documentation, and role modeling
to students while under the direct supervision of the Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or related
field. Certified as a teacher by the State of Washington with special
education endorsement required. Minimum two years experience as an
instructor in a behavioral health facility preferred.
